หลังจากที่ Ricoh ประสบความสำเร็จจากกล้องคอมแพคดิจิตอล Caplio R1 ด้วยบอดี้อลูมิเนียมบางเฉียบกับรูปทรงสไตล์ลิสดีไซน์สวยงาม วันนี้ได้พัฒนาขึ้นจากเดิมมาสู่รุ่น Caplio R1V ขยับความละเอียดสูงสุดขึ้นมาถึงระดับ 5 ล้านพิกเซลเอฟเฟคทีฟ และยังคงความเป็นกล้องคอมแพคที่โดดเด่นทั้งภายนอกและภายใน Caplio R1V มีขนาดเล็กเพียง 100 x 55 x 25 มม.และมีน้ำหนักเพียง 150 กรัมเท่านั้น แต่ถ่ายภาพความละเอียดสูงสุดได้ถึง 5 ล้านพิกเซลเอฟเฟคทีฟ เลือกขนาดในการบันทึกภาพได้ 4 ขนาด ได้แก่ 2560 x 1920, 2048 x 1536, 1280 x 960 และขนาดเล็กสุด 640 x 480 พิกเซล บันทึกภาพในฟอร์แมท JPEG ปรับระดับการบีบอัดข้อมูลได้ 2 ระดับที่ Fine และ Normal ภาพเคลื่อนไหวบันทึกพร้อมเสียงได้ 2 ขนาด คือ 320 x 240 และ 160 x 120 พิกเซล

เลนส์ซูมติดกล้องมีช่วงซูมสูง 4.8 เท่า เริ่มต้นที่มุมกว้างถึง 28 มม.และช่วงเทเล 135 มม. ครอบคลุมทุกการใช้งานทั่วไป และยังมีระบบดิจิตอลซูมอีก 3.4 เท่า ระยะโฟกัสใกล้สุดในโหมดมาโครเพียง 1 ซม.เท่านั้น ปรับโฟกัสด้วยระบบออโต้ที่รวดเร็วฉับไว พร้อมระบบแมนนวลให้ปรับด้วยตนเอง ระบบวัดแสงมีมาให้เลือกใช้ครบครันตั้งแต่แบบแบ่งพื้นที่ 256 ส่วน, เฉลี่ยหนักกลาง และเฉพาะจุด ปรับชดเชยแสงได้ +/-2 EV แบ่งละเอียดขั้นละ 1/3 EV และยังถ่ายภาพคร่อมอัตโนมัติได้ที่ +/-5 EV ความไวแสงปรับตั้งได้ตั้งแต่ ISO 64-800 และใช้งานในระบบออโต้ได้ ความเร็วชัตเตอร์ 8-1/2000 วินาที

โปรแกรมการถ่ายภาพเป็นโหมดสำเร็จรูป 6 แบบตามลักษณะที่เหมาะสม ได้แก่ บุคคล, กีฬา, ทิวทัศน์, ตัวอักษร, กลางคืน และแสงเทียน การปรับไวท์บาลานซ์เลือกใช้งารในโหมดออโต้ได้ หรือเลือกเองตามสภาพแสง 4 แบบ ได้แก่ แสงอาทิตย์, แสงในที่ร่ม, ไฟทังสเตน และไฟฟลูออเรสเซ้นท์ พร้อมระบบวันพุชให้เซ็ทค่าไวท์บาลานซ์ได้ตามต้องการ แฟลชในตัวเป็นแบบบิลท์อินขนาดเล็ก ทำงานอัตโนมัติเมื่อถ่ายภาพในสภาพแสงน้อย พร้อมฟังก์ชั่นเปิดแฟลช,ปิดแฟลช, แก้ตาแดง และสัมพันธ์กับความเร็วชัตเตอร์ต่ำ รับชมภาพผ่านจอมอนิเตอร์ขนาด 1.8 นิ้วแบบ TFT LCD จัดเก็บภาพลงในเมมโมรี่การ์ด SD/MMC หรือเมมโมรี่ภายในตัวกล้อง 12MB ถ่ายโอนข้อมูลด้วยอินเทอร์เฟส USB เปิดชมภาพผ่านหน้าจอโทรทัศน์ได้ทั้งระบบ PAL และ NTSC ใช้พลังงานจากแบตเตอรี่ Li-ion DB-50 หรือขนาด AA จำนวน 2 ก้อน

Introducing Ricoh's Smooth Imaging Engine image processing system.
The brain of a more highly evolved camera.
Images captured from a wide-angle lens are expansive, requiring the CCD to handle greater amounts of information. To process the information rapidly, the Caplio R1V incorporates Ricoh's Smooth Imaging Engine image processing system, which features 12-bit image processing and filtering processing to produce images with natural gradation and very low noise. Our color management software matches the CCD's spectral sensitivity, optimizing color reproduction. For natural images with true colors, the Caplio R1V simply is more advanced.

You get high performance using less energy with the Caplio R1V. Using the camera’s rechargeable battery, you can take about 490 pictures* between charges. AA alkaline batteries, which offer a great back-up plan when you’re on vacation or working, give you around 200 shots*. Plus, you can run the camera from its AC adaptor. So, altogether the Caplio R1V offers three easy and efficient power-up options. To conserve battery power, the synchro monitor mode automatically switches off the LCD display when the camera is not in operation. The LCD display powers up again when you push the shutter button half down. The Caplio R1V -the digital camera you can relax with.

How did we fit a powerful 4.8x (28mm-135mm) optical zoom lens inside a 25mm slim camera? With our ingenious Retracting LENS System, which swings part of the lens group like a pendulum inside the camera when the lens retracts. As a result, the Caplio R1V is about 26% slimmer than cameras with conventional lens systems. To maximize the image capturing power of the 5.0-megapixel CCD, four highly refractive, low-dispersion glass lenses are incorporated.

Switch on the step zoom function and you can quickly zoom to any of the five preset optical focal lengths: 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm or 135mm.
