Las Vegas, NV (February 12, 2004) –
Konica Minolta
introduces the new DiMAGE Capture
remote-imaging software for Konica Minolta’s
new DiMAGE A2 8 megapixel digital camera.
With a simple USB connection, the DiMAGE A2
can be controlled and monitored from a
computer as well as allowing direct storage
of image data to the computer’s hard drive.
DiMAGE Capture allows basic camera settings
to be made with the user’s computer mouse.
By connecting the Minolta DiMAGE A2 digital
camera to a computer with a Windows
operating system, users can record images
directly through the computer.
Images can be transferred quickly to the
computer’s
hard drive via USB 2.0 interface.
“Konica Minolta’s new DiMAGE Capture
software gives photographers direct control
over their DiMAGE A2 as well as immediate
storage of images,” said Jon Sienkiewicz,
vice president of marketing, Konica
Minolta’s Camera Division.
“This added flexibility ensures that the
camera can be used to document ongoing or
critical procedures where access to the
camera remotely is desired or where it’s
simply necessary to be working with a
full-size monitor.”
DiMAGE Capture software is ideal for table
top photography, studio photography, macro
photography, remote observation of wildlife,
harsh environments, awkward camera
positions, photos taken for use on Internet
auction sites and industrial applications
such as monitoring production sites or test
labs.
Easy Operation
DiMAGE Capture provides access to almost all
DiMAGE A2 camera functions, from basic
settings to the advanced features, such as
Flex Focus Point (FFP), Flex White Balance
and the others. Users can navigate easily by
moving and clicking the mouse point on the
easy-to-understand dialogue boxes or on an
image displayed on the screen of a connected
computer. Most of the settings on the
operating windows can be saved or reset to
default values if necessary.
Total
Control
In addition to giving photographers direct
control over the DiMAGE A2,
a preview function is available by
simply clicking the Preview button. Live
image or Preview image can be confirmed
clearly through the viewfinder on a PC
monitor.
Quick Workflow
A large amount of image data can be
downloaded directly to a computer quickly
via USB 2.0 while shooting, and instantly
viewed with the DiMAGE Viewer after
shooting. Furthermore, RAW and JPEG can be
recorded at the same time when the mode is
selected.
